Butter Dog

2 of Butter Dog's songs will be in VML Records' sampler. And they're also gonna release Album from VML some time in 1997.

We have been called ourselves as Butter Dog since 1993. We made a couple of songs, 'cause we had a show comming up soon. Our 1st drummer, Taizo Odagiri, left the band 'cause he had another band. It was in 1995. Before this time, we were just jammed in studios. Well, we did a bunch of cover songs. We played Gorilla Biscuits, Screeching Weasel, Face to Face, Lag Wagon, or something like that. Anyway, we found a new drummer, Kuriking, right before the show. The show was terrible. We were suck. We played with some garage bands, if my memory is correct. I think this was our 1st live show as Butter Dog. It was in May. On August 1995, we appeared at a big DIY show at Shinjuku Antiknock Tokyo. This time, the show was so hot and so fuckin' good. Yes, we played with NOBODYS, HUSKING BEE, SPROKET WHEEL and more fine bands. After the show, many people asked us that we have any material or something. So we had a recording for 1st 7inch. You can still get this from Water Slide Recs. So check it out. It is limited to 1,000 including 100 copies of gold vinyls. We already sold more than 700 copies within 2 months. Don't forget this!! It's gonna be sold out soon. Trust me!! Now, back to our story. In the end of August 1996, I(Kazu) came to the United States to attend university and the rest of members stayed in Japan. So we had to take a break. But the members in Japan had a show in November. It must be a damn show, I guess. We did a couple of shows in Philadelphia with Nobodys when the rest of members visited here with Nobodys in winter of 1995. In summer 1996, I went back to Japan for 3 months, and we had many shows over there. At one show, the tickets was sold out!! Yeah, we got a new drummer, Sasaki, in that summer. He's a very good drummer. So we recorded 5 songs for our next stuff. Now, Taizo(bass player) and I(Kazu) are in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, we don't have a drummer, 'cause our's is in Japan now, you know? So we asked John from Rizzo Machineand now he's gonna help us out as a drummer. So our line up is now Taizo(bass, back vocals), Kazu(guiter, vocals), and Yanno-san(drums). You got us now!! Ha, Ha, Ha....
